Cleaning Up After Christmas

Getting rid of the old, In with the new.

Laundry, laundry and more laundry.

Striping the guest bed.

Opening remaining gifts.

Admiring gifts that got looked over in the hustle and bustle.

Raiding your refrigerator of leftovers.

Eating all the cookies or tossing out all the cookies.

Turning in hot chocolate for green tea and green smoothies.

Making "late" 2015 resolutions.

Hitting the gym.

Back to work.

Back to routine.

Cleaning up after Christmas looks different for everyone.

The holidays have this new beginning effect similar to September.

Which is good.

Sometimes we need a little push to believe that a new beginning is even possible.

But if there's anything I've learned this year.

There isn't an instant resolution that will fix all of your problems, and heal all of your brokenness.

All you can do is keep breathing.

And that's not suppose to sound hopeless.

Maybe learning that there is no quick definite resolution - is a resolution in itself.

Maybe the resolution is life.

Maybe we make goals.

And maybe we even achieve them.

But maybe we count the very simple act of breathing as success too.

So however you choose to clean up after Christmas, wether with big resolutions, or no resolutions at all, just know that so long as you're still breathing, you're off to a great year.
