Christ-mas

was great.

not because I had any extraordinary experiences.

not because I crossed off my festive to-do list.

not because I watched every christmas movie ever made.

But because I was with the ones I loved most.

Because despite all of the hustle and bustle 

(the last minute gift-card buying

the last minute greeting cards

putting the tree up on the 24th)

I didn’t forget the true meaning of christmas.
