Consumers’ desires for certain products and services can shift over time due to a variety of factors, such as changes in personal circumstances, societal trends and even a global pandemic. These shifts in consumer behaviour can have a significant impact on businesses as they must adapt their offerings to meet the evolving needs of their customers. In the world of beauty, three leading trends are transforming the status quo, and some things that we thought were so 2000 are resurfacing.
RETAIL
Retail is on the rise – it appears that in-store shopping has made a comeback so much so that it’s outpacing online sales more specifically in the beauty industry. Several factors account for this shift, including the desire for a more hands-on shopping experience, where you can try before you buy, and most importantly – connection with an expert. Shopping in-store allows for the opportunity to ask questions and get advice, which can be helpful for those who are unsure of what to buy, proving that its convenient to offer online shopping, but in today’s market it’s certainly a flex to have both.
AROMATHERAPY
While fragrances have always played a significant role in the beauty industry, the rise of clean beauty has led to a decrease in demand, especially for synthetic fragrances. Ten years or so later, the uptake in demand can be attributed in part to the pandemic, as consumers have become more aware of scent’s role in our daily lives and the impact it can have on our mood and overall well-being. Brands like Olverum are seeing sales pick up as consumers become more aware of the benefits of aromatherapy. Just take their bath oil for instance, an aromatic blend of essential oils to ease stress and relieve tension.
ROOTS
Increasing awareness of hair type, texture, and race
is leading consumers to seek out tailored products that suit their curl patterns and textures. AI-powered trend monitoring software - Spate NYC, reported an increase in 2A, 3A, and 3C searches. Be it straight, wavy, thin or curly, the average consumer knows that to achieve maximum results they must take on a customized “skincare” approach to haircare. As the demand for natural hair care grows, brands like Shaeri with a specialized product offering for dry, textured and curly hair will be well-positioned to capture the market.

Wellness and beauty practices can have many benefits for both physical and mental health. Taking the time to care for yourself can help to reduce stress, improve sleep, and boost self-esteem. But it can be exhausting to constantly feel the pressure to engage in these activities and it’s important to remember that it’s okay to take breaks and prioritize self-care in a way that feels sustainable and enjoyable. This year, take the pressure off with some of our hardest-working products - they do the extra work so that you don’t have to.
1. Olverum Body Cleanser, 250ml, $53
A must-have for the shower, Olverum’s soap-free Body Cleanser delivers an experience unlike any other - yes, it’s a cleanser, but it’s also scented with a signature blend of essential oils that revitalize the senses, ease stress, and relax the body through aromachology.
2. Shaeri Co-Wash, 200ml, $46
If you have dry, textured, or curly hair, you can save time in your hair care routine by using Shaeri’s Co-wash instead of the traditional two-step process of shampoo and conditioner. 3. Biologique Recherche Serum de Teint, 30ml, $178
There’s no foundation that works harder than this - it fights dehydration, pollution, and blue light. With three years of product development behind it, Serum de teint is a versatile and convenient product for people looking to take care of their skin while also getting a natural- looking makeup base.

IT’S ALL IN THE NAME...
The ‘P’ in ‘P50’ stands for ‘peeling,’ as the product helps to encourage the skin’s exfoliation process for a revitalized appearance. The number ‘50’ refers to the approximate number of days it takes to see results. This time frame corresponds to the duration of two skin cycles, during which the active ingredients work to exfoliate and regenerate the skin.
WHY A P50 DUPE IS HARD TO COME BY...
Among the reasons P50 cannot be easily duplicated is its unique formulation, production process, and concentration of ingredients. Over the course of its 40 year history, the proprietary manufacturing process has been meticulously considered at every stage.
LOTION P50 CORPS, 250ML, $129
P50 Corps takes exfoliation to the next level with a complex of exfoliators in addition to toning active ingredients all specially formulated for the thickness of the skin on the body. The active ingredients in this formula work to improve the overall appearance and texture of the skin, making it a must-have addition to your body care routine.
LOTION P50T, 250ML, $130
This powerful lotion works to effectively remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and improve the overall texture and appearance of the skin. Along with maintaining the acid pH of the epidermis, it hydrates the skin to achieve that BR glow. For those with seborrheic skin, this formula is tailored to give you the radiant, healthy glow you deserve.
LOTION P50 PIGM 400, 250ML, $155
Featuring all of the benefits of the original P50T, but with the added bonus of brightening and fading pigmentation spots. Its unique blend of active ingredients works to deliver radiant, even-toned skin that looks and feels its best.
